The Race is an annual one-mile walk/run and 5K run that has been held at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst since 2004. It’s an exciting opportunity to raise awareness about the early detection of cancer and help the non-profit reach its fundraising goal for breast cancer clinical research.
The Race, founded in 2004 by siblings Josh and Dani Berns, is unique in that it is organized almost entirely by student volunteers. The Race encourages students and their families to get involved to actively fight to eradicate cancer.
The Race partners with Effective Leadership Academy to provide free leadership training over five Sunday meetings to all students who join The Race Student Leadership Team, a group that comes together to maximize their potential!
Joining The Race Student Leadership Team is an incredible opportunity to further your skills as leaders, make an impact in the fight against breast cancer, meet people with similar interests from across Northeast Ohio and build your resume in a unique way!
There is an application process this year, and acceptance is limited to the top 25 students
(based on availability, diversification of school districts, and question responses).
Applications are due on or before Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
