JOB DESCRIPTION: Part Time Chamber Outreach Coordinator

OVERVIEW: Effective Leadership Academy is a non-profit organization established in Cleveland, Ohio in 2008 dedicated to providing self-leadership and life skills for students in grade 5 through 12 through innovative and highly interactive programming. It equips students with essential 21st Century Skills by taking students on a self-led journey, providing an essential toolkit leading to success in college, in the workplace, and in life.

VISION: To create a successful, national nonprofit business model that effectively combines the best practices of nonprofit organization with for profit methods – ensuring that all eligible students have equal access to ELA’s educational programs.

SCOPE of WORK: This position has been created in an effort to collaborate and complement our existing ELA Team. The Community Outreach Coordinator will work with the designated ELA staff and prospective community partners in continuing to expand and coordinate our ELA Chamber Leadership Academy program. This will be done by establishing recognition of ELA in the Community and surrounding areas through marketing, networking and communication strategies that include both the use of media outlets and interpersonal relationship building.


  • Participates in ELA curriculum training program to become a certified facilitator for ELA.
  • Becomes familiar with ELA website, marketing materials, and PowerPoints
  • Review and study Chamber Lead program to fully understand the outreach needed to ensure success
  • Become the liaison between the communities, schools, and ELA for the Chamber program.
  • Coordinate speakers, locations, students, and any transportation needs for the ELA Chamber Program.
  • Maintain monthly timeline for Chamber program planning and preparation.
  • Elicit corporate and community sponsorships for Chamber program.
  • Develop a comprehensive communication plan to promote the organization to maximize public awareness.

HOURS OF WORK: The Community Outreach Coordinator is a part time position. This position will be 20 hours per week. Flexibility within these 20 hours a week will be needed at times, as will flexibility to work some nights and weekends due to programming needs.

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations and Executive Director


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Committed passion to making a difference in the lives of youth
  • Highly self-motivated starter
  • Connected to the Greater Metropolitan Cleveland community is a must
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Team player and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High Energy and Positive Mental Attitude
  • Maintains confidentiality of all student information
  • Adheres to the ELA curricula with fidelity and as well as all copyright and trademark issues
  • Word processing skills, spreadsheets, electronic transmission of material.
