Effective Leadership Academy (ELA) partners with schools and youth-serving community partners providing students and educators with a rigorous curriculum for 21st Century Skills development, reinforcing essential social and emotional, and workforce development skills.

POSITION:

The Lead Facilitator is a trained Effective Leadership Academy (ELA) team member whose primary function is to facilitate all ELA programs.

In addition, the LEAD Facilitator will work with designated school partners to build strong working relationships, coordinate existing programs, and strategically continue to expand these specific relationships/contracts to ensure that ELA remain fiscally strong.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Responsible for delivery and facilitation all of ELA programs; CLUB LEAD, CAMP LEAD, Transitions, LEAD’s, Chamber, and other key ELA programming, delivered both in-person and virtually online.
    • Program delivery typically averages 50% of weekly schedule and at times can be up to 75%
  • Deliver programs employing ELA divergent learning pedagogy, serving as “guide on the side,” to enable students to construct meaning from their experiences.
  • Manage the classroom and participants during training by tracking attendance, addressing inappropriate behavior, and documenting performance, both strengths and development needs.
  • Administer the pre/post assessments and develop program impact reports.
  • Form relationships with students and build community and rapport, motivating and inspiring them, giving them confidence to make positive choices in their lives for success in school and beyond.
  • Maintain positive relationship with students, teachers, school administration, and depending on the program, parents and/or community members.
  • Maintain open communication to report any potential and/or current issues with ELA Director of Operations.
  • Responsible for all administrative tasks related to program/program preparation, including preparation of program materials/program review/updating PowerPoints to adjust for time and school language.
  • Participate in ELA training and professional development.
  • Attend all ELA staff meetings.
  • Work collaboratively and bring a positive mindset to teamwork.
  • Creatively problem-solve and bring new ideas for efficiency and growth.
  • Collaborate with ELA staff on a variety of daily administrative tasks and special projects.

HOURS OF WORK:

The Full-time Facilitator position will be 40 hours per week. Hours are generally set as either 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm. Flexibility within these 40 hours a week will be needed at times. This includes adjusting schedules occasionally to work on programming that begins before 8am or ends after 5pm, as well as flexibility to work an occasional evening or weekend due to programming needs.

REPORTS TO: ELA Director of Operations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or associated field, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Committed passion to making a difference in the lives of youth
  • Experience working with diverse populations of youth
  • Experience teaching programs both in-person and virtually preferred
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and email
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Team player and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High energy and positive mental attitude
  • Ability to think on feet and adapt to changing situations
  • Maintains confidentiality of all student information
  • Adheres to the ELA curriculum with fidelity, as well as all copyright and trademark issues
  • Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Job Description

EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
TITLE: Social Media & Marketing Intern (REMOTE)
HOURS OF WORK: 10 hrs/week
POSITION DURATION: February 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021 (with potential for continual employment)

Marketing Director


POSITION:
Become a member of an excellent team as a social media and marketing intern for Effective Leadership Academy (ELA). ELA offers programs for youth and adults. Middle and high school programs include a rigorous curriculum for 21st Century Skills and address the critical issues that relate to social and emotional learning. Adult programs focus on social-emotional wellness and coping with stress. Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, the social media and marketing intern will collaborate with the marketing team in all stages of marketing campaigns and help develop, expand and maintain marketing channels.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Learn about ELA mission, programming, impact, and non-profit administration
  • Create year-round editorial calendars for social media and email marketing
  • Draft, request approval, and schedule year-round social media posts to increase online presence
  • Engage on social media weekly with other accounts
  • Design and send mass emails to subscribers (email marketing)
  • Create and monitor Google Ad campaigns
  • Proof marketing materials and website to ensure clear communication
  • Stay up-to-date with marketing best practices, resources, and contacts (networking & marketing research)
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to customer relations
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to brainstorm and execute projects
  • Attend weekly Marketing Team meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate student majoring/minoring in digital marketing, graphic design, advertising, journalism, public relations, or general communications
  • Committed passion to making a difference in the lives of youth and adults
  • Willing to learn and use feedback to improve skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle a variable schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with high energy and positive mental attitude

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Knowledge/experience with B2C and B2B social media marketing with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Beginner/Intermediate experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator
  • Beginner/Intermediate experience with iMovie and/or Adobe Premiere
  • Frequent use of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and


HOURLY RATE:
$10/hr

Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, the marketing intern will collaborate with the marketing team in all stages of marketing campaigns and help develop, expand and maintain marketing channels.
