Reentry into society
ELA’s Reentry program serves youth involved in the criminal justice system as they transition back into society. Through intensive group and/or individualized programming, ELA facilitators teach juvenile offenders the leadership and soft skills they need to be become their very best selves and prepare for positive futures despite the challenges they currently face.
The group sessions cover essential skills that these youth will need to set goals, change their mindsets, adjust their attitudes and habits and reduce recidivism as they move out of jail, prison or detention facilities back to their home environments.
1-on-1 mentoring
Our one-on-one mentoring sessions are themed around embracing personal change. They curate each participant’s own self-led journey in a way that empowers them to take personal responsibility for their own future – setting their own goals and progress milestones. They develop life maps, tracing both the past events that have shaped them, and a trajectory into their ideal future. This empowers reentry youth to continue their progress toward their goals even after they complete our program. It also helps them hold onto hope when they encounter peak and trough life experiences.
Finally, we help them develop a 90-day plan with practical strategies for setting and reaching life goals with actionable steps. In our program, reentry youth will gain the toolkit they need to succeed academically and graduate ready for work and responsible citizenship.
